On the Second Day of Christmas…

December 14, 2013

rotHappy Saturday!  It’s the second day of Christmas and today I am giving you…
A copy of Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry.  Because nothing says holiday cheer like zombies.  Or Die Hard.  I think I have next year’s tree theme!

Rot & Ruin is a fantastic YA book about Benny Imura, a young man living in a post-zombie apocalypse society.  Benny has just turned fifteen [EDIT:  Benny is turning fifteen, not sixteen.  Thanks to @SesameSquirrel for catching that.]  and must get a job to continue receiving food rations. After trying most of the options, Benny reluctantly decides to apprentice to his older brother, Tom, who is a professional zombie quieter.  Benny expects for everything to be boring and routine, just like Tom, but instead he finds more about the monstrous nature of some humans than he ever thought he could know
