On the Third Day of Christmas…

December 15, 2013

towerIt’s the Third Day of Christmas and today I’m giving away one of my favorite middle grade books of the year – Wednesdays in the Tower by Jessica Day George.  This is a sequel to last years, Tuesdays in the Castle, in which Princess Celie must use her connection to the magical Castle Glower to defeat an attempted coup.
However, even though the kingdom is now safe there is still plenty of adventure to be had in Castle Glower.  The castle seems to be adding more and more rooms, so Prince Rolf dares Celie to catch the castle in the act.  She does, indeed, find another new room, but this one has a little something special in it… a giant egg.
Celie can’t resist the urge to find out what is in the egg.  However, when it hatches she finds out that caring for an infant magical creature is not the easiest thing in the world.  And if the castle gives her a baby Griffin, what else might it be hiding?

This giveaway is for my advanced copy of the book, so it’s a soft cover version.  To enter, leave a comment below telling me about the most unusual pet you’ve ever had.  Or dreamed of having.
The contest will run until December 20th.
To win a copy of His Majesty’s Dragon by Namoi Novik leave a comment on this post by December 18.
To win a copy of Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry leave a comment on this post by December 19th.

When I am an old woman, I would like to have a really large pig to take on walks down the street, like I saw in a picture once.
